I thought Bud shb in charge and wondered why Tech hired a Memphis coach

Memphis was not on my radar at the time so I didn't understand how a head coach at Memphis with only FOUR seasons under his belt was replacing Beamer. I thought Bud's defenses would still keep Tech in contention. I still think Bud deserved to be head coach since he had put in the time and cared about Tech. I would argue that Bud's defenses were the foundation of Beamerball's emphasis on defense and special teams.
